Research Associate / Evaluator

Are you looking for an exciting career in a unique environment, working with a multi-disciplinary team?  Do you enjoy creative problem solving and using quantitative, qualitative and mixed methods approaches?  The Office of Educational Innovation and Evaluation at Kansas State University is looking for a Research Associate/Evaluator to effectively apply evaluation concepts and approaches in a meaningful way to help our clients improve their programs.  The Research Associate/Evaluator provides collaborative project management, evaluation services, strategic planning and project development for local, regional, national and international projects. You would be given the opportunity to work in collaboration with other team members on all stages of evaluation, including planning, data collection, data analysis, and reporting of results.  If you are a reflective practitioner wanting to make a difference, OEIE is looking for you! 

Required Qualifications:

  • Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university in evaluation, education, social science, or related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects and deadlines with attention to detail and organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and efficiently within a team and as a team lead.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead teams, facilitating constructive interaction among all team members.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement credible and feasible plans/applied research that address evaluation purposes and questions.
  • Ability to determine and apply appropriate methods, including quantitative, qualitative and mixed methods.
  • Ability to develop data analysis plans and analyze data using appropriate methods.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the proven ability to produce well-crafted reports, briefings and presentations that clearly communicate
  • complex information to various audiences.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct descriptive statistical analysis of data using computer software (i.e., SPSS and/or Excel).
  • Demonstrated culturally responsive interactions with clients, stakeholders, team members, etc.
  • Flexibility to work in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.
  • Some overnight travel, night and weekend work is required to fulfill responsibilities of the position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Three to five years of experience working in the field of evaluation.
  • Experience working with a variety of audiences and environments (e.g., working with children, under-represented minorities, culturally diverse groups, etc. in rural and urban settings).
  • Experience in managing large complex projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with clients and other stakeholders.
  • Broad knowledge of the current research-based principles, theories and practices of evaluation.

Salary: Competitive salary commensurate with skills and experience.

Appointment Conditions: Term 12-month appointment contingent upon needs for services and funding.
